As part of our partnership with Artsouilles & Cie, we recently undertook a new project: the creation of two removable wooden staircases for their upcoming show, "Mythologies". This project fits in perfectly with our commitment to sustainable development and support for local art and culture.
Exchanges and Understanding Needs
The first step was to talk to the members ofArtsouilles & Cie to understand exactly what their artistic and functional needs were. The Artsouilles & Cie team came to us with a 3D design, in order to show us more precisely what they were looking for and how it would work on the show. This close collaboration was essential in aligning our vision with their expectations. We held several meetings to discuss the specific requirements of the project: the staircases had to be removable, sturdy enough to support a good number of people, and able to fit in with the theme of Greek and Aztec mythologies. In addition, they had to be suitable for use outdoors and on uneven ground, while being easy to move and stabilize.
Feasibility analysis
Once the requirements had been clearly defined, we undertook an in-depth feasibility analysis. This phase involved evaluating the most suitable materials, designing the structures and anticipating potential stability challenges on a grassy terrain. We also took into account weather conditions, particularly rain, which could affect the durability of the stairs.
To ensure the sturdiness and longevity of the structures, we opted for the use of OSB panels, known for their strength and durability. We also designed the staircases so that they could be split into two parts for ease of movement, storage and assembly.
Design and Validation
The design phase was crucial to ensure that all technical specifications were met while maintaining the desired aesthetics. Our teams worked in collaboration with theArtsouilles & Cie teams to validate the design proposal, ensuring that the staircases met safety and functionality criteria.
In short, this project perfectly illustrates our ability to meet creative and technical challenges while remaining true to our values of sustainability and community support. We look forward to seeing our donation in action at the "Mythologies" show, and to continuing to collaborate with Artsouilles & Cie on future inspiring projects.
